I’m curious as I see my lifelong neighborhood, Washington Heights go through major changes… As the city “grows” those areas that become project sights are how these exoduses begin and is substituted
with dilapidation, good poor families unable to just “leave” and those who will by no other choice move into where no one else would. That was 1940 to be substituted by today’s IRT 2, 3 lines, yes? But within 20 years the neighborhood changed and the expansion of the GW bridge with the Transboro and Cross BX Expressway, the Deegan the finishing touches that led to a fire bombed neighborhood from WWII by the 1970s? Forgive me if these questions are off topic…
