I was a patient of Dr. Clement Davis since birth 1963 ~ 1970. My mother used to bring us for our immunizations, or any ailments we may have had. I remember the scent of Dr. Davis’ pipe. I also remember the black and white tiled floor of the waiting room. There was also a small locked door in the waiting area and I believe a stair case as well towards the front of the building. We entered through the side. Dr Davis had a lot of files on his desk and the nurse would come in and show him the records. He was very kind and always asked my mother, “how everything at home”, and would smile at me and my sisters. My best friend Pamela worked at the Buy-Rite store on Broadway and lived in one of the brownstones, in the corner of Bushwick and DeKalb avenues. I went to the library across the street that was also on DeKalb and Bushwick. I remember the angel statue on Myrtle and Bushwick avenue. I attended Enrico Fermi, Junior High School 111, then Bushwick H.S. on Irving Avenue. Bought my pizza’s at Vito’s on Knickerbocker Avenue. My mother used to shop at Graham Avenue, but always stopped at the Woolworth store to memorize clothing patterns, then if we were lucky ate there. One time my mom bought us a grilled cheese sandwich and fries..and my sister’s and I, stared at the lemon meringue pie. All these memories flooded in while seeing the old “Dr. Davis” mansion. Thank you for sharing!

So happy to see someone remembering Dr. Davis.
Today is his birthday. He was a kind, generous, and wise soul.
Thank you
