Pamela White April 27, 2013 - 1:15 pm

My name is Pamela White I was born May 31, 1967 in The Bronx New York, Our address was 2786 Dewey Ave #5C 10465, I now live in Santa Ana, California. I was overjoyed to come across this article By David A. Henry. One of my happiest memories of New York were at Woodycrest. I remember when I was about 9 or 10 years old visiting Woodycrest in 1976 or 1977. We were in the Nation of Islam then and allot of us Muslim Children and Teachers went to spend the day there. I remember feeling so very safe and amazed at how Grand and Old this building was. I ran from room to room, stopping to sit and enjoy the silence, I remember wanting to see a ghost or some sign of it’s former residences, I think I remember playing on the elaborate staircase in the back of the building. I explored as far as they would allow me to and Beyond, I was hypnotized and could feel that it was a place of Many Memories. I remember the huge room with the stage in it, I remember allot of wood floors and molding, (To this day at 45 years old I have to live in a house that has wood floors and classic molding.) I miss Woodycrest and I have fond Memories about this Grand Building.
