Grew up in the ground floor apt at 291 W 12th. A back yard with a swing set and grass and morning glories- the Jackson Square Library close by, and PS 41 thru 5th grade then on to JHS at PS 3 followed by the long subway ride uptown to the (then) HS of Music & Art at 135th st (now the LaGuardia HS of Music, Art and the Performing Arts by Lincoln Center).
