    My grandmother, Margaret McGillivray Galletly was employed . A handwritten communication dated April 1, 1901, from M. Calm, Secretary & Treasurer of “The Preservaline Manufacturing Co., 41-43 Warren Street, New York, stated that Margaret was offered an office position “with a starting salary of $5 for the first month, then $6 until July 15, then $7, with advancement as merited.” Office hours were stated as 8:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Margaret Galletly resided with her family at 270 Ainslie Street in Brooklyn, New York.
