THE KINGS OF MANHATTAN and BROOKLYN

by Kevin Walsh

Shot from the Kings Highway platform in Midwood, an F train “passes under” the King of All Buildings. The Williamsburg Bank Tower, now One Hanson Place, is seen at right.

WOW! A beautiful telephoto. I don’t think they had cameras like that when I was growing up in Brooklyn. Nice job!

For those that don’t know the other prolific buildings in that image here they are from left to right: Oro Condos, NY Times Tower, Met Life Ins Bldg, NY Life Bldg, Conde Naste Bldg (4 Times Sq), and 1 Bryant Park (Bank of America Bldg).

I’ve taken the “F” train to and from Kings Highway almost every day since 1968. I’ve never seen this view before. Are you sure you got the right station? Kings Highway is an express stop on the F line.

This station is not in Midwood but in Gravesend.
