WHERE: Manhattan Bridge pedstrian plaza entrance, east side of Bowery at Canal Street

HOW MUCH: $5 (cheap).

HOW LONG: abt 2 hours. We will walk across the Manhattan Bridge, investigate the Cadman Plaza area, and walk back across the Brooklyn Bridge, finishing at City Hall Park

TERRAIN: flat, with some inclines and steps

The Manhattan Bridge pedestrian walks, closed for over 30 years, reopened in 1999 after a decade-long rehabilitation; the walks opened shortly after subway service on both sides of the bridge was restored after a decade of repairs.

Join your webmaster for a couple hours of breezes and some recollections as well as some bridge information and lore. We'll also take a peek at some Forgotten items in Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn as we travel from one bridge to the other.

Nothing complicated...just a walk across two classic bridges! BTW, we are celebrating the Manhattan Bridge's centennial this year.
