Remember…TELECTROSCOPE

On ForgottenTour #34 in June 2008, which crossed the Manhattan and then Brooklyn Bridges, we spotted the Telectroscope that was installed on Fulton Landing (Old Fulton and Furman Streets in Brooklyn Heights). The Telectroscope was a fanciful  device which, using broadband satellite technology, enabled people on either side of the Atlantic Ocean to see each other and even communicate via cellphone and hand gestures. It was placed on Old Fulton Street and in London, England by British artist Paul St. George. The Telectroscope was available in both Brooklyn and London between May 22 and June 15, 2008.
