This was the home of the Office of War Information during WW2 where many movies were produced to show the USA as the good guys. One of the films was The Story of the Jeep narrated by a Jeep. Famous people who worked for the OWI were actor John Houseman, who was the first director of what became later known as the CIA, Frank Capra and famous film editor Ralph Rosenblum. He talks about his time there in his book When the Shooting Stops, the Editing Begins. It later was a mecca for editors and directors after WW2 was over.
