I hadn’t checked on this Type 1 BC Bishops Crook that had stood sentinel at #90 East 10th, between 3rd and 4th Avenues, for quite some time — since I took this photo over a decade ago. It’s a good thing I got the photograph, since by 2011 it had been renovated out of existence, probably landing on a scrap heap when it should have gone to a museum. Sick transit, Gloria!

Very saddened to hear that…did anyone ask the new owners what happened to it?
I grew up in that neighborhood and remember walking by that lamppost a lot. Sometimes I’d pretend I was asking it where it came from.
