This battered street sign pair can be found (at least in 2012 when I shot it) at Leighton Avenue and Spencer Place in Yonkers. However, it sits right on the Yonkers-NYC borderline and indeed, Spencer Place is L-shaped and curves south into the Bronx, where it dead ends. Leighton then continues south with an identity change in the Bronx, where it becomes Spencer Avenue.
Yonkers is a large city — I believe NYS’ third largest after NYC and Buffalo — and roving it in its entirety looking for similar signs would be daunting. If anyone knows the locations of any other similar signs, tell me in Comments.

I recognized that sign right away. There is also a modern New York City green vinyl sign for Spencer Place just a few feet from the ancient Yonkers sign, and I think that Spencer Place itself is wholly in the Bronx. It runs east from Leighton/Spencer Ave., then curves south. And the part of it that runs north/south is also called Spencer Terrace, and has four-digit house numbers in the 62xx range. I once drove a livery cab in the area, and was mystified when I received a call for a Spencer Terrace address, until the dispatcher directed me down Spencer Place.
Maybe the fear of removing something on the wrong side of the border keeps the Traffic Dept. away from No Man’s Land!
I remember finding it strange that I needed to drive through Yonkers to go from the Bronx to the Bronx. There is a staircase at the bottom of Spencer Place, but one can’t drive it.

According to the oasisnyc.net website map, looks like Spencer Place is mostly in Westchester County, and some of the properties lie in both NYC and Yonkers. Interesting.
My grandparents lived on Spencer Place and had a Yonkers address.
