I am having a hernia fixed on Monday, September 18, so will be taking a few days off from Forgotten NY and “real work” for rest and recuperation. Post-op, my FNY posts will be less frequent as I recover.

I hope you heal quickly and well.
May everything be plumb and level again.
Thanks for many years of interesting article – they give me a lot of pleasure
Good luck. Feel better.
Good luck with the surgery at Port Charles General Hospital in Upstate New York (as seen in the photo). When I moved to LA some years ago, I was driving down the freeway and saw the huge Los Angeles County Hospital and immediately recognized it from the “General Hospital” opening credits of the 1970s and ’80s. Be well, Kevin!
I know a guy who got a hernia while going to the bathroom

Feel Better Kevin. We need you on here
Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery.
When I was a kid back in the 50’s, I had an inguinal hernia repaired at the Norwegian Hospital on 4th Ave in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. I cried the whole 5-6 days I was there. Dr. Flickinger, who did the surgery, was also our family doctor, AND the one who delivered me! Physicians didn’t specialize as much back then. Nowadays, in the outpatient surgery suite in our building, they dress you in a gown, walk you into the OR, put you under, do the hernia repair, walk you to the recovery room, and send you home the same afternoon! Times have changed… Good luck!
Here’s to a quick recovery, Kevin.
Only hurts when you laugh. Time heals all wounds. Get some rest. Appreciate all your dedication to maintaining Forgotten New York!
Get well soon!
Get well soon, Kevin! Hernia surgery isn’t as serious as it once was. My dad had it in 1974 and he was in the hospital for a week. Today, you’re in and out.
Heal fast, Kevin! Your fans miss you, and wish you a quick recovery.
Feel better Kevin.
