MUCH to my regret I was unable to partake at Roebling Pizza at #324 Roebling between South 8th and 9th in Williamsburg simply because I was scuttling past like a NYC “pizza rat” before it opened at 1 PM. Nevertheless, I was taken aback by its simple storefront, painted all red with plastic lettering often found on sponsored “privilege” sidewalk signs. The shingle sign features a Coca Cola art motif from decades ago, and was likely installed with Coca Cola sponsorship.
Sometimes the most unassuming pizza joints produce the best pies and slices; this is certainly true of Pizza Wagon on 5th Avenue and 86th Street, which has a ramshackle interior but plenty of great reviews for the food. Roebling Pizza is likely the smallest pizza storefront in the city. But the proof is in the pizza and Roebling gets uniformly good reviews on Yelp.Needless to say next time I ramble on Roebling I will be in.
Since I had never wandered the entirety of Roebling Street ever, not even on a bicycle when I lived in Brooklyn, I did so in May 2024. No idea when the FNY feature will appear, but it will, eventually.

Frank of American Pickers would LOVE the Coke sign!
Now I need a slice of that pizza and a Coke.
I live in Texas, dammit.
