I am in a slight rush this AM and otherwise got nuthin’, so here’s a fine plastic-lettered sign at #765 Grand Street at Humboldt for what was once Grand Cleaners. For reasons strictly coincidental, Brooklyn’s Grand Street seems to preserve more classic sidewalk signs than any other commercial streets in the area. The address is now home to a thrift shop.
Retaining old signage is, in some cases, meant to be clever or ironic, but sometimes, it’s too much of a pain in the neck or too expensive to remove the older sign.
Check out the ForgottenBook, take a look at the gift shop. As always, “comment…as you see fit.” I earn a small payment when you click on any ad on the site.

Clever use of laundry carts to hold sale items.
