I was going to hold off on this till I wrote a High Bridge page (I walked across the newly reopened span) but here’s one I’ve overlooked till now, a huge painted ad for the former Economy Drugs on Featherbed Lane and Jesup Avenue in the Bronx’ High Bridge section. There’s still a drugstore across the street, but it’s now a Rite Aid.
Look carefully and you will see the outline of the “vessel with the pestle” motif that many older drugstore ads use. The TR exchange in the Bronx stood for TRemont (in Manhattan it was Trafalgar and in Brooklyn it was TRiangle).
Note also that the “wall dog” had to improvise to fit the long word “prescriptions” into the space.

That sign is a keeper. Nice find.
High Bridge has reopened? Yes it has, on June 9th! How did I miss hearing about that?
